▪
He has not asked us; He has
commanded us to praise Him! |
| |
▪
A second reason to praise the Lord
is because God is enthroned in our
praise. “But thou art holy, O thou
that inhabitest the praises of
Israel” (Psalm 22:3). |
| |
▪
Thirdly, there is power in praise.
|
| |
▪
When we stop trying to fight our own
battles and begin to praise, God
will fight for us. He will release
His power and His provision on our
behalf. The word of God also tell us
that it is a good thing to praise
the Lord “It is a good thing to give
thanks unto the Lord, and to sing
praises unto thy name, O Most High”
(Psalm 92:1). |
| |
▪
A fifth reason for praising the Lord
is that God is worthy of our praise.
“Great is the Lord, and most worthy
of praise” (Psalm 48:1).
|
| |
▪
And last but not least; we were
created to praise the Lord, “But you
are a chosen people, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, a people
belonging to God, that you may
declare the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness into His
wonderful light (1 Peter 2:9). As
children of God praise is one of the
most natural things that we do; it
should be as easy as inhaling and
exhaling. |

When Should We Praise the Lord? |
|
Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the
vines, though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls, yet I
will rejoice in the Lord, I will be
joyful in God my Savior (Habakkuk 3:
17-18). |
|
Modern rendition: |
|
Though the economy is unstable, and
unemployment is rising, though
Communism may be growing; and
terrorism is rampant, though the car
is broken down and my wife is
stranded downtown; though my kid
just broke his arm and the medical
insurance ran out, yet I will
rejoice in the Lord, I will be
joyful in God my Savior! |
